Crown Material’s strong R&D capacity provides a solid foundation for its sustainable development. In the past decade, the company has stayed on the path of innovation-driven development, consistently intensified research into basic materials, improved the six core technologies, continuously increased the energy density of materials, broadened the application boundaries of materials, enhanced its core competitiveness through independent R&D and invented many new products in the world, including 1,500V backsheets, BO backsheets and black high reflectance backsheets. 

The company now owns two R&D centers, namely the Jiangxi Photovoltaic Composite Materials Engineering Technology Center and Suzhou R&D Center, with laboratories certified through DEKRA witness testing. The company holds nearly 130 patents, including nine PCT patents. Its annual R&D expenses account for about 4% of its total expenses, and its R&D personnel and professional technicians account for about 10% of its employees. The company is one of the entities that drafted the national standard for solar backsheets and group standard for aluminum laminated film for lithium cells. It is a nationally certified specialized, high-end and innovation-driven "little giant" enterprise, and an enterprise with intellectual property advantages. Its products have won the second and third prizes at the Jiangxi Science and Technology Advancement Awards.
